A ‘Media Consultation on Routine Immunization’ was organized on December 24, 2015 by UNICEF in association with Nagrik Foundation. Around 30 radio and print journalists from across 11 states came together to deliberate on the need and ways to maximize radio’s reach to the last mile for the cause of immunization.
Sensitisation of grassroots Journalists on Public Health Reporting was thematic focus during the event. Nagrik Foundation provided support to UNICEF India in bringing together district level radio journalists to participate in the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) training workshop held from October 27-30, 2015 in Gurgaon, (Now Gurugram) Haryana. About, 51 journalists from 12 States participated in the workshop in which Nagrik Foundation played an instrumental role.
During the year Nagrik Foundation also provided its digital technology for reaching out to district media persons in a targeted and interactive c a p a c i t y building sessions on adolescent issues. The foundation’s ICT technology provided a platform to simultaneously engage with media persons at the national, state and district levels. Over 35 media persons from districts across Rajasthan participated in the workshop, which was held on October 31, 2014 in Kota. The workshop aimed at creating awareness about adolescent issues which have been largely ignored or poorly represented by the mainstream media.
